A prominent Gauteng property developer with industry-leading facilities and amenities wanted to offer its tenants unique cutting-edge online tools.

The Brief:
In keeping with its award-winning reputation, a prominent property developer wanted to give its tenants the ability to manage their metered utilities as well as their billing all online through an integrated wallet system. Each unit was serviced by an electricity meter, a cold water meter as well as a hot water meter. The wallet system was required to manage all three meters per unit in prepaid mode, as well as recover fixed municipal and common area charges on a monthly basis.

Our Solution:
Each unit was equipped with our prepaid smart electricity, cold water as well as hot water meters. We implemented the SmartZone, our proprietary state of the art revenue management system, that seamlessly integrates with all the metering equipment and automatically generates billing recoveries. The staff of our client were given comprehensive training on the use of and management of the system, and several rounds of engagement with tenants took place to familiarise them with their new systems.

The Results:

Our client as well as its tenants have real-time online access to their data at any time. Tenants are able to view detailed consumption data of all their meters, are able to query the status of any meter as well as credit balances, invoices and statements are available for viewing or download at any time. Our client is able to self-manage their rental charge recoveries and can real-time perform billing and credit transactions down to level of individual tenants. Recoveries reports are available online, updated to the minute, for our client to query and drill-down into all recoveries and wallet transactions right down to individual tenant level.
